When both conditions present, simultaneous artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) penile prosthesis (PP) implantation can be performed treat UI ED, respectively. We sought evaluate device survival outcomes in men who underwent vs. staged AUS PP for ED. METHODS: Analysis 21 years a national prospectively maintained Boston Scientific database was (1995-2016). Patients were placed into three subgroups based on timeline implantation: first then (AUS1), (AUS2), (SIMAUS). stratified surgical approaches implantation. Implant (time revision or explantation) analysis using log-rank test. RESULTS: 6770 patients included the study. from showed AUS1>SIMAUS>AUS2 at 5-years (89.1% vs 84.3% 79.5%), 10-years (84.3% 80.1% 75.2%), 15-years (82.2% 78.5% 74.0%), 20-years (81.3% 77.8% 74.0%) initial implantation, all p<0.001. explantation (90.8% 85.6% 82.0%) (77.7% 75.0% 72.0%), but SIMAUS>AUS1 AUS2 (70.4% 66.3% 65.0%) (69.7% 58.2% 65.0%), p≤0.003. In subgroup 1119 undergoing perineal penoscrotal IPP approach, (93.1% 83.9% 79.7%, p<0.001) (92.4% 80.7% p<0.001). also (93.5% 86.6% 79.8%, (72.6% 68.7% 65.4%, p=0.002). CONCLUSIONS: For dual ED diagnosis, up 20 10 is best seen undergo placement followed PP, as highlighted approach. However, offers better long term (>10 years) explantation. Erectile dysfunction (ED) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) from urethral sphincteric deficiency is not an uncommon problem. The commonest etiology is intervention for localized prostate cancer and/or radical cystoprostatectomy for muscle invasive bladder cancer. Despite advances in surgical technology with robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy and nerve sparing techniques, the rates ...

Although currently still the gold standard treatment for post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence, the artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) (AMS800) is an invasive procedure with associated risks factors. In this paper, we aim to outline what the scientific literature and what we personally believe are the factors that are useful and/or necessary to mitigate these risks, including both patient fac...

Erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence secondary to sphincter dysfunction are common conditions affecting many men worldwide with a negative effect on quality of life. They are encountered in a number of etiologies most commonly following radical prostatectomy in which they coexist in the same patient. Implantations of an artificial urinary sphincter and inflatable penile prosthesis have...
